Considered Design
Responsible Manufacturing
All Natural Fibres

andrews’ sleepwear was established in NSW, Australia with roots across the greater Sydney region, the Coal Coast and the Lower Hunter.  Our owner and designer, Elle has over 10 years experience working in various aspects of the Australian fashion and retail sector.  Projects and positions involving the manufacturing of garments for large scale Australian retailers, have awarded us insight and analysis into how the process is managed and executed. As a reaction to this, andrews’ has been created to offer accessible, socially and environmentally responsible sleepwear.

andrews’ offers well-made garments that feel and look good, that have been manufactured by workers who are paid well, treated respectfully and carried out under agreements that are fair and transparent.
We value and respect our collaborative supply chain.

Natural Fibres, Forever

All andrews’ garments are made from natural fibres, this is a decision we are passionate about and will remain integral to all design and development decisions.  Our classic woven sets are made from 100% linen. Linen is strong and durable which makes it perfect for garments that are frequently washed and need uncomplicated laundering.  Linen is suitable for sensitive skin, it is naturally antibacterial and pathogen resistant due to its moisture wicking properties – goodbye night sweats!  Linen is environmentally friendly and arguably the most sustainable fabric to use.  Our cotton tees are made from super soft, 100% cotton yarn.  Cotton is naturally grown supporting farmers and their surrounding communities.  Cotton is comfortable, hypo allergenic, and odour-free, perfect for a good night’s sleep.

In our soft shorts we use a viscose/linen blend.  The addition of viscose adds drape to the tactile properties of the linen.  Viscose fibres are made from cellulose, a natural raw material found in wood pulp, through processing a yarn that is soft, lustrous and absorbent is produced. Read on to find out the extra social benefits of our viscose/linen fabrics.

To the Rescue

Through our founder’s experience and understanding of the fashion manufacturing industry, the andrews’ team has learnt of the negative impacts of large-scale production. When a major women’s fashion retailer went into administration, suppliers, mills and manufacturers were left with hundreds of thousands of units of unclaimed and unpaid for garments, fabrics and raw materials.

The fabric used in our soft shorts of the ‘Rescued’ sets has been purchased from a supplier who was impacted directly by this.  Our designer reclaimed these finished fabrics and reworked them into new products, using the existing colours to harmoniously pair with the wildflower artworks that were created.

Projects with Pals

As a part of our debut collection andrews’ has lent on the shoulders of many dear friends. In particular, Sydney based graphic artist Pat Rogasch.  Rogasch’s bold and fluid illustrations of Australian wildflowers proudly feature on our rescued sets.  And we couldn’t be happier about it.

To check out more work from our Pat, check out his website. And to check out these illustrations in person, buy yourself a rescued set.

Small Scale, Deep Diversity

andrews’ production runs are small and will not be repeated.  This decision allows us to ensure that there is not an excess of finished product that could end up in landfill in years to come.  We also give our manufacturers flexibility in production runs.  To avoid having leftover fabrics to be discarded or remain unused, suppliers can cut production runs with a generous tolerance, we will accept and ship the final quantity as they require.

Careful selection of colours and prints as well as painstakingly thought-out pattern/shape development has resulted in garments rich in diversity and timelessness. All the silhouettes in our debut range are deliberately genderless shapes with generous cuts.  This means our target market encompasses a wide range of individuals. Colours and prints are perennial and will not age out.
